On January 22, the establishment and annual meeting of the Chinese council of China-South Africa vocational education cooperation alliance was held in Changzhou, Jiangsu province. Vice President Zhang Jian attended the meeting.
The conference was hosted by the Sino-foreign cultural exchange center of the ministry of education and undertaken by Changzhou vocational college of information technology. Du Kewei, director of the Sino-foreign cultural exchange center of the ministry of education; Li Xudong, director of the department of international cooperation and exchange of the ministry of education; Yu Jie, researcher of the department of vocational education and adult education of the ministry of education; Chi Yu, deputy director of the department of industry and information technology of Jiangsu province; Wang Junming, secretary of the party committee of Changzhou institute of information technology attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech. About 180 participants, including representatives of domestic higher vocational colleges, well-known enterprises, and experts on education opening-up, integration of industry and education as well as South African and African issues, attended the conference.
At the meeting, they agreed on the constitution of the Chinese council of the alliance, voted and approved the list of the first governing units, the list of management of the council, and announced the formal establishment of the Chinese council of the alliance. Suzhou Vocational University was elected as the first vice chairman of the Chinese council of the alliance. At the same time, the conference held the supporting activity of photo exhibition of South African students in China, which showed the participants the charm and effectiveness of the South African students in China projects in various institutions.
China-south Africa vocational education cooperation alliance was jointly initiated and established on January 30, 2018 by the Sino-foreign cultural exchange center of the ministry of education, the industrial and manufacturing training department of the ministry of higher education and training of South Africa and 58 relevant government departments, institutions and enterprises of China and South Africa. Over the past year, the alliance and its related work have been included in the educational outcomes of the high-level people-to-people exchange mechanism between China and South Africa and the follow-up task list of the Beijing summit on China-Africa cooperation in the field of education.
